Quick arithmetic with parentheses and percentages.
Free to use, no sign-up required. Calculator is one of 198 tools built into Xenition, alongside a chat that can use them for you.
A basic calculator for everyday arithmetic with brackets and percentages. You can tap the keys or type a whole expression, and it shows the answer as you go.
Standard operator precedence applies: brackets first, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. The % sign always means divide by 100, so 15% is 0.15. Answers are rounded to 10 decimal places, and anything that is not a number, such as division by zero, shows Error.
250 × 15% gives 37.5, a 15% tip on 250. (12.5 + 7.5) × 4 gives 80.
Here % simply divides by 100, so 200 + 10% is 200 + 0.1. Some pocket calculators treat + 10% as add ten percent. To add 10% here, type 200 × 1.1 or 200 + 200 × 10%, which both give 220.
Computers store decimals in binary, and 0.1 cannot be stored exactly. This calculator rounds to 10 decimal places, so it shows 0.3.
You do not have to open Calculator to use it. Ask Xenition in plain language and it runs the right tool, then carries the answer into whatever you are working on — a document, a spreadsheet, a deck.
