Future value of savings with contributions.
Free to use, no sign-up required. Compound Interest is one of 198 tools built into Xenition, alongside a chat that can use them for you.
Projects what savings or an investment will grow to with compound interest and regular monthly additions.
Interest compounds monthly at the annual rate ÷ 12. The starting amount grows as P × (1 + r)^n, with n = years × 12. Monthly additions are made at the end of each month and grow as M × ((1 + r)^n − 1) ÷ r. Contributed = P + M × n, and interest is the future value minus that. Taxes, fees and inflation are not included.
Starting with 10,000 and adding 200 a month at 5% for 10 years gives a future value of 47,526.55. You contribute 34,000, so 13,526.55 is interest. The 10,000 alone grows to 16,470.09.
Interest earns interest, so growth speeds up the longer money stays invested. Adding years often raises the result more than adding a larger monthly amount.
No. The figure is in future money. To estimate today’s buying power, enter the rate minus expected inflation as the annual rate.
You do not have to open Compound Interest to use it. Ask Xenition in plain language and it runs the right tool, then carries the answer into whatever you are working on — a document, a spreadsheet, a deck.
