How it works

Title Case capitalises the first letter of every word and lowercases the rest. Sentence case capitalises only the very first character and lowercases everything else, including later sentences and proper nouns. camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case lowercase the text and treat any run of characters other than a–z and 0–9 as a word break.

Example

“user ID for NASA login” becomes “User Id For Nasa Login” in Title Case, “User id for nasa login” in Sentence case, userIdForNasaLogin in camelCase, user_id_for_nasa_login in snake_case and user-id-for-nasa-login in kebab-case.

Questions about Case Converter

When is kebab-case used instead of snake_case?

kebab-case is common in URLs, CSS class names and file names; snake_case is common in Python and database column names.

Why did Title Case change NASA to Nasa?

Every word is lowercased after its first letter, so acronyms and names like iPhone need fixing by hand afterwards.
