Fuel needed and cost for a trip.
Free to use, no sign-up required. Trip Fuel Cost is one of 198 tools built into Xenition, alongside a chat that can use them for you.
Estimates how much fuel a car journey will use and what it will cost, from the distance, the car’s fuel economy and the price of fuel.
Fuel needed = distance ÷ efficiency, in litres. Trip cost = litres × price per litre. For a return journey, enter the round-trip distance.
A 450 km trip in a car doing 15 km/L needs 30 L of fuel. At 1.80 per litre, it costs 54.
Divide 100 by the figure. A car using 6.5 L/100 km does 100 ÷ 6.5 = 15.4 km/L.
Multiply US mpg by 0.4251, or UK mpg by 0.3540. A car doing 35 US mpg does about 14.9 km/L.
You do not have to open Trip Fuel Cost to use it. Ask Xenition in plain language and it runs the right tool, then carries the answer into whatever you are working on — a document, a spreadsheet, a deck.
