Turns any text or web address into a QR code you can scan with a phone camera or save as an image. Common uses are menus, Wi-Fi notes, event links and business cards.
The image is drawn by the api.qrserver.com service at 240 × 240 pixels with an 8-pixel quiet margin, so your text is sent to that service; avoid encoding passwords or other secrets. The tool does not request an error-correction level, so the service’s default of L applies, which recovers roughly 7% of damaged modules.
Entering https://example.com/menu returns a black-and-white 240 × 240 PNG square that a phone camera opens as that link. A longer text produces a denser grid of smaller squares in the same size.
Long text packs more modules into the same square. Shorten the link, print it larger, and keep the white border around it.
A code like this is static: the text itself is stored in the pattern, so it works as long as the link it points to works.
