Total, count, and running stats for a list of numbers.
Free to use, no sign-up required. Sum & Count is one of 198 tools built into Xenition, alongside a chat that can use them for you.
Adds up a list of numbers pasted from a spreadsheet, receipt or notes, and shows the count, average, smallest, largest and product.
Each piece of text between separators is read as a number, and anything that is not a number is skipped. Sum adds them, Average is sum ÷ count, and Product multiplies them all together. Sum, average and product show up to four decimal places.
For 12, 34, 56 and 78, the sum is 180 over 4 values, the average is 45, the min is 12, the max is 78 and the product is 1,782,144.
Commas are treated as separators, so 1,250 is read as two numbers, 1 and 250. Remove thousands separators before pasting, or put one number per line without commas.
A leading currency symbol stops that value being read as a number, so it is skipped. Compare the Count with the number of values you expected to catch this.
You do not have to open Sum & Count to use it. Ask Xenition in plain language and it runs the right tool, then carries the answer into whatever you are working on — a document, a spreadsheet, a deck.
