Scale ingredient amounts up or down by servings.

Scales a list of ingredients from one number of servings to another, so a recipe for four can feed six or two.
The factor is desired ÷ original servings. Only the number at the start of each line is changed, so numbers later in a line stay as they are. Whole numbers, decimals, fractions such as 1/2 and mixed numbers such as 1 1/2 are read as one value. Results under 10 snap to the nearest kitchen fraction (1/8, 1/4, 1/3, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 2/3, 3/4, 7/8) when within 0.04; 10 and above round to one decimal.
From 4 to 6 servings is a factor of 1.5: 200 g flour becomes 300 g, 2 eggs become 3, 300 ml milk becomes 450 ml, 1 1/2 tsp salt becomes 2 1/4 tsp, and 3/4 cup sugar becomes 1 1/8 cup.
Ingredient amounts scale in proportion, but baking time and tin size do not. A larger batch in a deeper tin needs longer at a lower heat, so check it rather than trusting the original time.
Beat the eggs and measure out half of one; a large egg is about 50 g without the shell.
You do not have to open Recipe Scaler to use it. Ask Xenition in plain language and it runs the right tool, then carries the answer into whatever you are working on — a document, a spreadsheet, a deck.
