Converts recipe measures between teaspoons, tablespoons, fluid ounces, cups, pints, quarts, millilitres and litres. It is for following an American recipe with metric measuring jugs, or the other way round.
Every measure is stored in millilitres, using US customary sizes: 1 tsp = 4.93 ml, 1 tbsp = 3 tsp = 14.79 ml, 1 cup = 236.59 ml, 1 pint = 2 cups and 1 quart = 4 cups. It converts volume only, not weight.
3/4 cup (0.75) is 177.441177 ml, or exactly 12 tbsp. A 250 ml metric cup is 1.056688 US cups.
No. The US cup is about 237 ml. The metric cup used in Australia, New Zealand and Canada is 250 ml, and the older UK cup was about 284 ml. The difference is small for most dishes but matters in baking.
Not with a volume converter. A cup of flour weighs around 120–130 g but a cup of sugar about 200 g, because density differs by ingredient. Use a kitchen scale or an ingredient-specific chart.
Yes, it is 20 ml (4 teaspoons). The US and UK tablespoon used here is about 15 ml.
