Business Days

Working days between two dates, with the weekend days you choose.

Free to use, no sign-up required. Business Days is one of 198 tools built into Xenition, alongside a chat that can use them for you.

Counts working days between two dates, leaving out the weekend days you choose. Useful for delivery estimates, notice periods and project schedules.

How to use Business Days

  1. Pick a Start date and an End date; the order does not matter.
  2. Under Weekend days (excluded), toggle the days that are not working days. Saturday and Sunday are selected by default.
  3. Read Business days, with the excluded days listed beneath.

How it works

The tool steps through every calendar date from the earlier date to the later one, counting both the start and end dates, and adds one for each date whose weekday is not marked as weekend. Public holidays are not known to the tool, so subtract any that fall in the range yourself.

Example

1 October to 31 October 2026 gives 22 business days with a Saturday–Sunday weekend. With a Friday–Saturday weekend the same range gives 21. Monday 5 to Friday 9 October 2026 gives 5.

Questions about Business Days

Are the start and end dates included?

Yes, both are counted if they are working days. A range that starts and ends on the same Monday counts as 1 business day.

How do I count working days for a Friday–Saturday or six-day week?

Toggle the weekend buttons to match. Select Friday and Saturday for many Middle Eastern countries, or just Sunday for a six-day week.

Use it from chat

You do not have to open Business Days to use it. Ask Xenition in plain language and it runs the right tool, then carries the answer into whatever you are working on — a document, a spreadsheet, a deck.
