Countdown

A live countdown to any date and time.

Free to use, no sign-up required. Countdown is one of 198 tools built into Xenition, alongside a chat that can use them for you.

A live countdown in days, hours, minutes and seconds to any date and time you set, such as a launch, a trip or a deadline.

How to use Countdown

1. Type an Event name, for example Launch day.
2. Pick the Date & time the countdown should reach.
3. Watch the timer tick down every second. Use Reset to clear it.
4. Keep the page open: when the timer reaches zero it plays three short beeps, shows a notice and, if you allowed notifications, sends a system notification.

How it works

Every second the tool subtracts the current time from the target and splits the gap into whole days, hours, minutes and seconds. Both times use your device’s clock and time zone. If the target is already past, it shows “It’s here!” instead of a timer, and no alarm sounds.

Example

Set at 12:00 on 27 September 2026 with a target of midnight at the start of 31 December 2026, the countdown reads 94d 12:00:00.

Questions about Countdown

Why did the alarm not sound when the time came?

The alarm only fires if the page was open while the countdown crossed zero. Browsers can also block sound on a page you have not clicked on, and muted or throttled background tabs may delay it.

Does the countdown follow my time zone?

Yes. The date and time you pick are read in your device’s local time zone, so someone elsewhere would need to enter the event in their own local time.
