Convert clothing sizes between UK, US, and EU.
Free to use, no sign-up required. Clothing Size Converter is one of 198 tools built into Xenition, alongside a chat that can use them for you.
Shows how letter sizes (XS to XXL) line up with numbered sizes: US, UK and EU dress sizes for women, and chest measurements in inches and centimetres for men. It is a rough guide for shopping across countries.
This is a fixed lookup table, not a formula. Each women’s letter size maps to a range of two numbered sizes in each system; men’s letter sizes are the same in the US, UK and EU, so the table gives the chest measurement instead.
A women’s M is US 8–10, UK 12–14 and EU 40–42. A men’s L is a 40–42 in chest, or 101–106 cm.
The two systems were set up on different scales, and on most charts a UK size runs about 4 above the US size for the same garment — a UK 12 is roughly a US 8. Individual brands, especially vanity-sized ones, can differ.
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms, with the tape level and snug but not tight. Compare that figure with the brand’s own size chart, which overrides any general table.
You do not have to open Clothing Size Converter to use it. Ask Xenition in plain language and it runs the right tool, then carries the answer into whatever you are working on — a document, a spreadsheet, a deck.
