Random numeric, letter, mixed, or strong PIN codes.
Free to use, no sign-up required. PIN Generator is one of 198 tools built into Xenition, alongside a chat that can use them for you.
Creates a random PIN or short code for a phone, door lock, card, test account or one-time code, using digits, letters, a mix, or a strong set with symbols.
Characters are drawn with crypto.getRandomValues using rejection sampling, so every character in the set is equally likely. Numbers uses 0–9, Letters A–Z, Mixed A–Z plus 0–9, and Strong upper and lower case letters, digits and !@#$%^&*. No repeats shuffles the set with a Fisher–Yates shuffle and takes the first characters, so it cannot be longer than the set: at most 10 unique digits. For Strong PINs of 4 or more characters the tool redraws, up to 50 times, until the PIN has an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a digit and a symbol.
Length 6 with Numbers gives a code such as 480213. There are 1,000,000 possible 6-digit PINs, or 151,200 with no repeats.
Only ten digits exist, so the Generate PIN button is disabled and a note asks you to shorten the PIN or allow repeats.
No, slightly less. Banning repeats removes combinations, cutting 6-digit PINs from 1,000,000 to 151,200. Use it only if a system requires it.
You do not have to open PIN Generator to use it. Ask Xenition in plain language and it runs the right tool, then carries the answer into whatever you are working on — a document, a spreadsheet, a deck.
