Convert between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin.
Free to use, no sign-up required. Temperature is one of 198 tools built into Xenition, alongside a chat that can use them for you.
Converts a temperature between Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin and shows all three at once. Useful for weather, body temperature, recipes and science work.
The tool converts to Celsius first. From Fahrenheit, °C = (°F − 32) ÷ 1.8; from Kelvin, °C = K − 273.15. It then works out °F = °C × 1.8 + 32 and K = °C + 273.15.
A body temperature of 98.6 °F is 37 °C and 310.15 K. At −40 the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales meet: −40 °F is −40 °C.
That rule of thumb is close near room temperature but drifts elsewhere. 30 °C is really 86 °F, not 90, and 0 °C is 32 °F, not 30. The exact formula is × 1.8 + 32.
0 K, which is −273.15 °C or −459.67 °F — the lowest possible temperature. Kelvin starts there, so it never goes negative and is written without a degree sign.
You do not have to open Temperature to use it. Ask Xenition in plain language and it runs the right tool, then carries the answer into whatever you are working on — a document, a spreadsheet, a deck.
